David C. Lekang, 47, Lake Park, Minnesota, died Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Meritcare Palliative Care, Fargo, North Dakota. David was born on March 30, 1962 in National City, California to Jack and Dorothy Lee Lekang. Because his father was in the military the family lived in various places including Norfolk, Virginia, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Newfoundland. They later moved to West Fargo, North Dakota where David graduated from high school in 1980. He moved to Williston, North Dakota, where he worked in construction and at a convenience store. In 1982 he married Angela Braaten in West Fargo, North Dakota. In 1989 he married Stacy Bruner in Williston, North Dakota. Over the years they made their home in Williston, Bismarck, and Mandan, North Dakota, as well as Chinook, and Lloyd Montana, and Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. Most recently he was employed by Ochr(39)Day Inc. of Fargo, North Dakota. He loved hunting, fishing, and racing stock cars. It was well known that David could "fix just about anything". Most of all he loved spending time with his children. David is survived by his four daughters, Malynda Lekang of Havre, Montana; Natalie Lekang of Moorhead, Minnesota; Jessie Lekang of Hawley, Minnesota; Elysia Lekang of Chinook, Montana; two sons, Doug Lekang of Fargo, North Dakota; Seth Lekang of Chinook, Montana; granddaughter, Sydnee Schwarzrock; father, Jack Lekang of Lake Park, Minnesota; mother, Dorothy Barnes of Repton, Alabama; seven sisters, Theresa Lekang of Repton, Alabama; Rita Lekang of Repton, Alabama; Mary Penton of Georgetown, Alabama; Jolynn Krotzer of West Fargo, North Dakota; Jinelle (Rick) Beauchamp of Lake Park, Minnesota; Jessica (Chase) Naslund of Bismarck, North Dakota; Jennifer McTighe of Lake Park, Minnesota; many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his step-mother, Joanne Lekang.
