Sharon Rae Goff

October 31, 1939 — October 21, 2013

Sharon Rae Goff was born on October 31, 1939 in West Fargo, ND to Milton and Mildred Anderson. After Milton died, Mildred married Ed Merrill and he adopted her children. Sharon spent her childhood in West Fargo and graduated from High School there as Valedictorian. In April of 1959 she married Duane Charles Bachmeier in Bismarck, ND. The couple moved to San Diego, CA. Duane found work as a mail carrier, and Sharon was a legal secretary at General Dynamics. But most importantly, Sharon was a housemother. They had three children, Darcie, Todd and Darin. In 1972 the family moved to Detroit Lakes, MN. Sharon loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. She loved her two Dachshunds and all her farm animals. Most of all she loved spending special and precious time with her grandchildren. Duane passed away March 17, 1982 at the young age of 46. Sharon married Donald Goff June 4, 1984. He passed away December 26, 1991. Sharon passed away peacefully on October 21, 2013 at Golden Living Estates in Moorhead, MN after a long and difficult illness. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Duane Bachmeier, and by Donald Goff; her parents Ed and Mildred Merrill; and one brother William Arthur Merrill. She is survived by her three children, Darcie Smith, of Park Rapids, MN; Todd Bachmeier, of Fargo, ND; and Darin Bachmeier, of Detroit Lakes, MN; a sister, Susie LeRud, of Nimrod, MN; nine grandchildren, Kyle, Tiffy, Trevor, and Loren Smith; Anna and Eric Bachmeier; and Tony, Candice, and Kayla Bachmeier; ten great grandchildren; and many close friends.
