Betty L. Anderson age 61 of Detroit Lakes, MN died January 9, 2014 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND. Betty Lou Anderson was born on February 18, 1952 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Boyd and Ella Olson Hazelton. She grew up and attended school in Detroit Lakes, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1970. She also worked at the Graystone Hotel while attending school. In June of 1970 she was united in marriage to William Baker. They made their home in Ogema, MN for a short while before moving to Audubon, MN. Betty worked at the Audubon Truck stop for many years. She also worked at the Norby's Department Store in Detroit Lakes, and later attended the Northwest Technical College, where she received a Sales and Marketing degree. In October of 1996 she was united in marriage to Peter Anderson. They made their home in Detroit Lakes before moving to Grantsburg, WI in 2001. In 2010 they moved back to Detroit Lakes. Betty loved horses and her Dachshunds. She also enjoyed flower gardening, mowing the yard, knitting, and deer hunting. She is survived by her husband Peter; three daughters, Paula Baker, of Boston, MA; Kristie (Andy Kaiser) Lizotte, of Sioux Falls, SD; and Becky Anderson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one son Tony Baker, of Lake Park, MN; two step sons, Steven (Janelle) Anderson, of Buffalo, MN; and Jason (Charity) Anderson, of Grand Rapids, MN; two step grandsons, Grant and Jacob Anderson; two brothers, Jim (Irene) Hazelton, of Callaway, MN; and Ronald Hazelton, of White Earth, MN; one sister, Berdella (Oskar) Schock, of Tacoma, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Pamela Baker; two brothers, Duane and Paul Hazelton; and her parents.
