Charles "Bud" Sidney Leitheiser

Charles S. Leitheiser age 77 of Detroit Lakes, MN died April 17, 2014 at Golden Manor in Detroit Lakes. Charles Sidney Leitheiser was born on February 1, 1937 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Joseph and Cora Goebel Leitheiser. He grew up and attended country school in Erie Township, rural Detroit Lakes. On July 8, 1978 he was united in marriage to Deborah Karkinen in Detroit Lakes. Over the years he worked a variety of jobs, including construction work, groundskeeping work at Fair Hills Resort, and working at Bergen's Greenhouse. Charles enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and building bird houses. He is survived by his wife Deborah; a stepdaughter, Tammie (Marty) Jenson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; three grandchildren, Kendra Jenson, Tara Paquette, and Chantel Paquette; two sisters, Dorothy (Elvin) Anderson, of Lake Park, MN; and Virginia (Charles) Chadbourne, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ralph Leitheiser; and six sisters, Frances Olson, Margaret Penhiter, Ruth Moe, Veronica Tucker, Mary Sagmo, and Helen Stoen.
