Shirley Ann Dresch

Shirley A. Dresch age 80 of Sauk Centre, MN formerly of Detroit Lakes, MN died July 18, 2014 at Centracare Health - St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. Shirley Ann Dresch was born on November 7, 1933 in Beardsley, MN to John and Ragna Mathistad Schneider. She grew up and received her education in Beardsley, graduating from Beardsley High School. On September 12, 1953 she was united in marriage to Vern F. Dresch in Beardsley, MN. They made their home and raised their family there. She and Vern owned and operated Dresch's Store in Beardsley for many years. She and Vern moved to Detroit Lakes in 1990. Shortly following Vern's death, Shirley moved to Sauk Centre, MN to be closer to family. Shirley was a very accomplished business woman. She enjoyed music, singing and dancing. She was also a good cook and a gracious host of many meals in her home. But most of all, spending time with family was the most important thing to her. She is survived by four sons, John Dresch and Mary Dresch; James (Debbie) Dresch; Joseph (Joel Clark) Dresch; and Jerome (Dawn) Dresch; two daughters, Karen (Brian) Dresch; and Kathleen (David) Dresch-Hagen. Fifteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister in law, Anna Mae Schneider; and one niece and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Vern (4/30/14); brother, Stuart Schneider; and her parents.
