Blanche Arlene Englund

Blanche A. Englund age 90 of Detroit Lakes, MN died August 8, 2014 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, MN. Blanche Arlene Englund was born May 5, 1924 near Richwood, MN to Knute and Esther Leegard Solum. She grew up and attended Country School near Richwood, MN. On November 14, 1942 she was united in marriage to Roy Englund in Detroit Lakes, MN. They made their home and raised their family in Detroit Lakes. Blanche has been a resident at Emmanuel Nursing Home since 2007. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, and time spent with her grandchildren. Blanche is survived by one son, Richard (Marilyn) Englund, of Detroit Lakes, MN; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy (1981); one son, Ronald Englund; three sisters, LaVern Solum, Alvina Lemon, and Alette Arneson; three brothers, Clifford, Lawrence, and Arnold Solum; and her parents.
