Marilyn D. Honer age 64 of Detroit Lakes, MN died September 10, 2014 at Essentia Health- St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit Lakes, MN. Marilyn D. Honer was born on March 13, 1950 in Detroit Lakes, MN to William and Ovidia Vange Martinson. She lived in Rochert and New York Mills, MN as a young girl before moving to Detroit Lakes where she received her education. On August 25, 1968 she was united in marriage to Alfred J. Honer. They made their home in Felton, MN and later in Thief River Falls, MN, before moving to Detroit Lakes. Over the years Marilyn worked for the Viking Turkey Plant, Swift Turkey Plant, the Bakery, Main Street Restaurant, and Walmart, in Detroit Lakes. Marilyn enjoyed baby sitting and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved flowers. She is survived by two sons, Alfred J. Honer Jr., of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Allan (Jessica) Honer, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one daughter, Rebecca (Nicholas) Honer, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one grandson, Andrew Honer; four granddaughters, Stephanie Honer, Melanie Honer, Piper Hembre, and Lily Hembre; four sisters, Arlene Meyer, Helen Seidell, Carol Mott, and Judith Nelson; three brothers, David Martinson; Dale (Laura) Martinson; and Dean Martinson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred; her parents; one sister, Esther Jorgenson; two brothers, Douglas and Robert Martinson; and nieces and nephews.
