June Marie Johnson

June M. Johnson age 87 of Fargo, ND, formerly of Frazee, MN died December 25, 2014 at the Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo, ND. June Marie Johnson was born on February 24, 1927 in Wolverton, MN to Walter and Elsie Straight Tolbert. The family moved to Orchard Gardens, MN where June attended elementary school. They later moved to Pelican Rapids, MN where she attended high school. On November 26, 1944 she was united in marriage to Clifford H. Johnson in Erhard, MN. They made their home in Pelican Rapids and then in Anoka, MN. In 1965 they moved to North Dakota where Clifford served as a Pastor in Church's Ferry and later in Hoople. Shortly after Clifford's death in 1975, June moved to rural Frazee, MN. June's love of the Lord was very evident and important to her, and she made sure she passed that on to her family. She was always very active in her church, serving in many ways including teaching Sunday School. She was a very generous, giving person who enjoyed helping others. She served as a volunteer in the Senior Companion Program for many years. Time spent with her family was also very important to her. She is survived by four daughters, Wanda Johnson, of St. Paul. MN; Donna (Russell) Baxter, of Grafton, ND; Anita (Craig) Hoehne, of Ogema, MN; and Diana (Bob) Schussler, of Moorhead, MN; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel Tolbert, of Crystal, MN; and Allen (Nancy) Tolbert, of Wisconsin Dells, WI; daughter in law, Jill Johnson, of Bemidji, MN; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Clifford H. Johnson; son, Timothy Johnson; daughter, Carol Johnson; and her parents.
