Shirley Ann Bergstrom

Shirley A. Bergstrom age 77 of Rochert, MN died on March 15, 2015 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND from injuries sustained in a car accident on March 3, 2015. She died peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Shirley Ann Bergstrom was born August 24, 1937 in rural Frazee, MN to Fred and Inez (Markwardt) Feldt. She grew up and attended country school in Toad Lake Township. She graduated from Frazee High School in 1955. She then served in the Women's Army Corp. from 1955 - 1957, stationed in California. On September 7, 1958 she was united in marriage to John D. Bergstrom at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee, MN. They lived and raised their family in Rochert, MN. Over the years Shirley worked at the Sears and Gambles Stores in Detroit Lakes. She also worked for Swift and Co. in Detroit Lakes, and operated a convenience store near Height of Land Lake. Shirley was known for being an excellent cook. She did a lot of catering for weddings, graduations, and church functions. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting, needle work, and canning. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was always very active in her church. She was a very generous, giving person who loved spending time with her family. Shirley is survived by her husband John, two daughters, Cheryl (Jerry) Behlmer, of Rochert, MN; and Sharon (Tom) King, of Frazee, MN; three sons, John Bergstrom Jr, of Rochert, MN; Daniel (Natalie) Bergstrom, of Rochert, MN; and Darryl (Renee) Bergstrom, of Detroit Lakes, MN; eighteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; six sisters, Gladys (Terry) McKnight, of Apple Valley, MN; Dorothy Elijah, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Janet (Marvin) Anderson, of Frazee, MN; JoAnn (Alvin) Conklin, of Frazee, MN; Barbara (Robin) Maneval, of Vergas, MN; and Debra (Darwin) Axdahl, of Frazee, MN; five brothers, Dale (Judy) Feldt, of Savage, MN; Gene Feldt, of Florida; James (Peggy) Feldt, of California; Jon Feldt, of Fergus Falls, MN; and Brian (Debbie) Feldt, of Frazee, MN; and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Alvin Feldt; granddaughter, Amanda Ann Bergstrom; niece, Brenda Conklin; two nephews, MarLee Anderson and Jeremy Feldt; brother in law, Allen Elijah; sister in law, Audrey Feldt; and father and mother in law, Gust and Mary Bergstrom.
