Diane Marie Pearson

June 15, 1946 — March 19, 2015

Diane Marie Pearson, 68, of Elk River, Minnesota and Detroit lakes, Minnesota entered eternal life and peace with her Savior on March 19, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family after a battle with lung cancer. Diane was born on June 15, 1946, in New Prague, Minnesota to Duane and Elsie (Meyer) Hawthorne of Elysian, Minnesota. Her elementary years were in north Minneapolis. She survived polio at the age of 9. Diane's family later moved to Brooklyn Center, Minnesota where she graduated from Brooklyn Center High School. After high school she worked various jobs till she went to work for Control Data, where she was trained as a computer programmer. Diane married Roger N. Pearson on June 18, 1966 at the Church of the Triune God in Brooklyn Center. They enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. She worked till 1974, when her second child was born then took on the fulltime role of a mother. Diane spent her time raising her children and volunteering in the community. She volunteered at the school as the computer mom to teach children how to use the computer. She volunteered for school functions, girl scouts and boy scouts. Diane enjoyed watching her children play sports and her favorite concerts, were band and choir. She enjoyed the outdoors and sharing it with her family. She was able to travel with her husband to the Bahamas, Iceland, Montana, Texas and around the country. Her favorite places were spent with family and friends. Diane returned to work after her children graduated from high school and her favorite job was driving the kindergarten bus. As she got older she enjoyed being with and watching the activities of her grandchildren especially the baseball games. Diane is survived by her husband, Roger Pearson; son Norman (Lori) Pearson; daughters, Claire Pearson PhD. (Frank Servidone) and Elizabeth Pearson; grandchildren, Victoria Lavrenz, Spencer Pearson, Logan Pearson, Francesco Servidone and Benjamin Servidone; brother, Randy (Sandy) Hawthorne of Tyler, Texas; nieces, nephews, and sisters- in-law. Diane was preceded in death by parents, Duane and Elsie Hawthorne. Diane was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother.
