Geneva Danielson

Geneva Danielson, 81, of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Essential Health-Oak Crossing under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Geneva Hage was born in Halstad, Minnesota, on April 28, 1934, to Walter and Jonette (Fauglid) Hage. She graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1952, then lived and worked in California until her father's passing brought her back to Detroit Lakes. She married J. Loren Danielson in 1955 in Detroit Lakes, and they farmed in Holmesville, Township. Three children were born to them; Terri, Clint, and Vernon. In the early 1960's, Geneva began working at First National Bank and later moved to First American (Bremer) Bank where she retired as a loan officer. Geneva also served as the Holmesville, Township treasurer and was active in the Business and Professional Women's Organization. She had been a member of Lund Lutheran Church, Immanuel Lutheran Church (Callaway) and Zion Lutheran Church of Detroit Lakes. Geneva and Loren traveled to Germany, Switzerland, Iceland, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, Canada, Maine, Virginia, and Branson, Missouri. Geneva had been a resident of Oak Crossing since 2004. Geneva is survived by her three children; Terri (Gary) Hilgers of Bloomington, Minnesota, Clint (Bonnie) Danielson, Moorhead, Minnesota, and Vernon (Donna) Danielson of Detroit Lakes. Also surviving are a brother, Willis (Greta) Hage of Detroit Lakes, granddaughters, Laura Danielson of Moorhead, Minnesota, Bria Gustafson of San Diego, California, Heather Hilgers of New York, New York, and Deni Danielson of Detroit Lakes. She was preceded in death by her husband Loren, her parents, and her sister Dianne Hage Maitland.
