Kevin P. Shockley, 26, Lake Park, Minnesota, formerly of Detroit Lakes died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Essentia Health, Fargo, North Dakota. Kevin was born on October 8, 1988, the son of Jeff and Sharon (Olson) Shockley in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 2007. After high school, Kevin enlisted in the National Guard until receiving an honorable discharge in 2014. He was united in marriage to Deanna Gans on June 21, 2014 in McGregor, Minnesota. Kevin worked various jobs in Detroit Lakes as a delivery driver and most recently at Stenerson Lumber. Kevin was very outgoing and enjoyed being around people. He rode motorcycle often and enjoyed the Memorial Day Motorcycle Ride that took place yearly. Kevin was known as a backyard mechanic that could fix anything. He loved hunting, fishing and camping, anything involving the outdoors he enjoyed. Kevin is survived by his parents, Jeff and Sharon Shockley of Detroit Lakes, MN; sister, Alison (Mike) Cook of Detroit Lakes, MN; nephew and niece, Gavin & Ava Cook, paternal grandmother, Leola Shockley of Detroit Lakes, MN; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends; ex-wife, Deanna Gans and his dog, Buddy. Kevin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leonard and Esther Olson, paternal grandfather, Lawrence "Pete" Shockley, uncles, Carl and James Olson, aunt, Helen Oliver and great uncle, Ned Herman.
