Marietta Louise Hendrickson, 96, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Ecumen Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Marietta was born on January 25, 1919, the daughter of John and Emma (Disse) Howe Sr. in rural Becker County, MN. She was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes, graduating in 1937. Marietta was united in marriage to Lloyd Hendrickson on February 24, 1940 in Detroit Lakes. They made their home in Detroit Lakes. Marietta had a great sewing talent and shared that ability with family through clothing and other items she made for them. She owned and operated a fabric store in Detroit Lakes for a few years, and worked at JC Penney and White Drug for a number of years. Marietta enjoyed flowers, listening to music, bird watching, crafts, shopping and being with her family. She loved her cat (Punkin) and the many surprises he would bring in the house from his outside adventures. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Marietta is survived by her daughter, Kay (Gary) Nulph of Detroit Lakes, MN; two granddaughters, Kim (Greg) Mayer of Sioux Falls, SD; Heidi (Mark) Winn of Elko, MN; three great-grandchildren, Victoria Mayer, Alexis Winn and Ty Winn; brother, Robert Howe of Salt Lake City, UT; numerous nieces and nephews. Marietta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lloyd, two brothers, Harold and John Howe Jr.
