Marion R. Payne age 97, of Detroit Lakes, MN died Friday July 24, 2015 at Ecumen - Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, MN. Marion R, Payne was born June 14, 1918 in Camden, New Jersey to Ralph and Maud Tice Crane. She grew up and attended school in Camden, New Jersey. During WWII she worked in the shipyards there. She married Robert Paget in Camden and they made their home there until 1950 when they moved to Hollywood, FL. Marion worked for Burdines Department Store, selling china for many years. Robert died in 1967 and in 1976 Marion was married to Paul Payne. Following her retirement they lived in Ft, Pierce, FL. In 2005 Marion moved to Detroit Lakes, MN to be near her daughter Susan. Marion was a woman of great faith. Her church was very important to her. She was very active in her church in Ft. Pierce, volunteering in many ways, including teaching both Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School, and visiting shut ins. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and served as their flagbearer. She also enjoyed fishing and sewing. She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Lee) Daily, of Detroit Lakes, MN; three grandchildren, Dean Wolski, of Port Charlotte, FL; Daryl Paget, of Ft. Pierce, FL; and Debbi Paget, of Hollywood, FL; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Paget; second husband, Paul Payne; one brother, Bud Crane; one grandson, David Paget Jr; one stepson, David Paget; and her parents.
