Lauren Lee Sayre

Lauren Lee Sayre, 56, Detroit Lakes, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at his home. Lauren was born on May 19, 1959 to David and Elaine (Siegert)Sayre in Fargo, North Dakota. His early years were spent in Harwood, North Dakota until his family moved to Detroit Lakes. Lauren attended grade school and high school in Detroit Lakes. As a young man, Lauren served in the United States Navy. Lauren married Lisa Hanson in Detroit Lakes, they later divorced. He had a long history in heating and plumbing (Thanks Dad). Lauren managed Laney's Mechanical Inc. of Detroit Lakes for a number of years. He then went to work in Afghanistan for Halliburton until an injury sent him home. If you had an issue, whether it was HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building or just general mechanical problems, Lauren was a wealth of knowledge. He lived for hunting, fishing, the Minnesota Vikings, his family, friends and his dog, Cody. Lauren was just a fun guy! Lauren is survived by his brother, Don (Kathy) Sayre of Alexandria, MN; sister, Victoria (Larry) Beier of Faribault, MN; two nephews, Guy, Greg (Andrea) Sayre and their children, Sam and Luke and a niece, Amanda (Ben Kieffer) Sayre and their children, Evy Lou and Oliver; two aunts, Rosie Jacobs of Detroit Lakes, MN; Mary Ann (Richard) Remme of Fargo, ND; Ruth Siegert of Hillsboro, ND. Lauren was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Mark.
