Scott Shipley

Gary Scott Shipley was born in Garrison, ND the youngest child of Gary and Marlene Shipley. Scott spent his formative years on the family farm in South Dakota. He attended and graduated from Eureka, SD high school, where he excelled as a student athlete. Following high school graduation Scott attended MSUM and Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Detroit Lakes. Scott moved to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota in 1990. Scott enjoyed spending time with his family on the farm in South Dakota and at the cottage on Floyd Lake. He especially liked spending time with his buddy Zekey. Scott will be remembered as a kind and generous soul. He will be known best for helping his neighbors, especially the elderly. Scott will be missed by all those whose lives he touched. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Marlene Shipley, and his grandparents, William and Hilda Schilling and Vernon and Alvina Shipley. He is survived by his brothers, Kevin (Carol) Shipley, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Wayne (Ann) Shipley, of Fargo, ND; his sister, Beth, of Fargo, ND; nephews, David (Katie) Shipley, and Andrew Shipley, both of Fargo, ND; his aunt and uncle, Arliss and Terry Feichtner; uncles, Ronald and William Shipley; and cousins, Curt, Lisa, Amy, Benton, Roxanne, and Camille.
