Robert Allen Nelson

Robert A. Nelson 64, of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota died Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Essentia Health - St. Mary's, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Bobby was born on April 14, 1951, the son of Melvin and Nellie (Larsen) Nelson in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes. Bobby worked at the Swift Turkey Plant, the hatchery and the paper mill in Vergas, Minnesota. He also owned and operated a fishing rod and reel repair shop for a number of years. Bobby enjoyed collecting toy cars, the flea market, where he also operated a booth to sell and trade from his collection and fishing. Bobby is survived by his father, Melvin Nelson of Detroit Lakes, MN; sister, Judy (Richard) Vierzba of Kalispell, MT; brother, Dale Nelson of Pelican Rapids, MN; sister-in-law, Ruth Nelson of Detroit Lakes, MN; numerous nieces and nephews. Bobby is preceded in death by his mother, Nellie and brother, Milton.
