Andrew Jon Beardsley

Andrew Jon Beardsley, 31, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota died Sunday, October 4, 2015 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Andrew was born on February 3, 1984 in Choluteca, Honduras. In 1986, he was adopted by Dick and Mary Beardsley. Andrew was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. As a young man, he enlisted in the Minnesota National Guard and later enlisted in the United States Army. Andrew was stationed in Germany and enjoyed his time there as well as the German culture he experienced. He served a tour of duty in Iraq before going to Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas where he received his honorable discharge. Andrew continued to live in Texas until he returned to Detroit Lakes in 2014. Andrew enjoyed fishing, cats, customizing cars, especially his 1998 Cadillac. He also loved time spent with his family and friends. Andrew is survived by his father and step-mother, Dick (Jill) Beardsley of Austin, TX; mother and step-father, Mary (Jim) Fernandez of Aurora, CO; two brothers, Christopher and Matthew Gainer; sister, Lindsay Fernandez; grandmother, Sylvia Hausmann of Gregory, SD; aunts and uncles, Mary Ann (Mark) Jaben of Waynesville, NC; Sheila (Rick) Langguth of Rapid City, SD; Dr. Dennis (Nancy) Hausmann of Erie, CO; Tom (Jan) Hausmann of Yankton, SD and numerous cousins. Andrew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Vivian Beardsley, Jean and Floyd Tollefson and Edward Hausmann.
