Eunice V. Palm age 91 of Detroit Lakes, MN died January 8, 2016 at Essentia Health – Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes, MN. Eunice Verniel Palm was born April 5, 1924 in Detroit Lakes, MN to David and Hulda Peterson Munson. She attended the Lake Eunice Country School and later graduated from Detroit Lakes High School. She worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone in Detroit Lakes for three years before entering the United States Navy. She served as a Pharmacist Mate at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas from June 14, 1945 to August 21, 1946. Following her discharge she moved back to Detroit Lakes. On November 15, 1947 she was united in marriage to Frank Palm and they made their home in Detroit Lakes. She went back to work at the telephone company and worked there until her retirement in 1979. Eunice is survived by her son Charles (Janice) Palm, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and her brother Dennis (Bonnie) Munson, of Lake Park, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank (1985); three sisters, Mertice Torgerson, Betrice Howe, and Bernice Ohman; and her parents.
