Cecil Ernest Adams

Cecil E. Adams 82, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota died Monday, February 22, 2016 at Essentia Health-Oak Crossing. Cecil was born on September 7, 1933, the son of Delbert and Lillie (Bell) Adams in Shell Lake Township of rural Becker County. Cecil was raised and educated in Shell Lake Township. As a young man, he worked as a logger and helped on the family farm. Cecil married Elenora Simonson in October 14, 1962 at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Height of Land. They made their home in rural Detroit Lakes. Cecil worked road construction for Thorson’s Construction for many years until retiring in 1982. Cecil was an avid fisherman and enjoyed visiting a casino every now and then. He loved to visit, especially with his grandchildren. Cecil is survived by his daughter, Twila (Paul Malikowski) Schmitz of Detroit Lakes, MN; ten grandchildren, Stephen (Angel) Schmitz, Joseph (Jess) Schmitz, Anthony Schmitz, Ashley (Jeremy Lardy) Malikowski, Zachary (Callie) Malikowski, Greggory (Amanda Warnecke) Malikowski, Sarah (Kyle Sandland) Malikowski, Lisa (Jason) Eide, Nicole (Matthew) Riley and Tiffany (Patrick) Folnsbee ; Eleven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Elenora (2015), daughters, Wannita Adams, DeeAnn Adams, three brothers, Earl, Elwin and Kenneth Adams, three sisters, Margaret Pickett, Grace Pickett and Vera Lee.
