Christy Lynn Powell

Christy Lynn Powell Harris was born on November 20, 1978 in Austin, Texas to Ricky and Paula (Shirley) Powell. She attended Lockhart High School, graduating from there in 1996. She attended Community College in Austin for a short period before she married John Snow in the spring of 1998. They made their home in Lytton Springs, TX. She gave birth to Cason Rain in June of 1999. After two years of marriage with John they divorced and Christy became the dedicated single parent she was today. She next took care of her grandmother Gertrude Shirley for three years. Trying to find her own independence and strength, she decided to move north with Cason. Michigan was the first step for them, staying with cousins for a while before moving to Rochert, MN. In 2003 she moved back to Texas and married John Harris in 2004. In November of 2005, two days before her own birthday she got the best birthday present, Kodian Marie. They lived in San Marcos, Texas for about a year before moving back to Rochert, MN. John and Christy split up in 2007 and she and the kids moved to Detroit Lakes, MN. Christy was a loving, dedicated mother, who was also an active member of her community. She enjoyed her church, choir, volunteering, and community activities with her children and many friends. She will be greatly missed.
