Arvid Ronald Kaiser

Arvid R. Kaiser age 90 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Friday March 4, 2016 at his residence, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Arvid Ronald Kaiser was born April 29, 1925 in Ogema, MN to Arnold and Anna (Bullert) Kaiser. He attended Country School near his home and later worked as a hired hand on a local farm. On November 11, 1949 he was united in marriage to Lucille Madson in Lake Park, MN. They made their home in Lake Park and later moved to a farm north of Audubon, MN. Arvid worked as a self employed carpenter for many years, building numerous homes, barns, and cabins in the area. On September 14, 1985 he married Edith Quast in Detroit Lakes, MN. They made their home in Detroit Lakes. Arvid and Edith worked together as custodians at Trinity Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes for six years. Arvid enjoyed fishing, wood working, and making latch hook rugs. He was also a very active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church Men’s Bible Study. He is survived by his wife, Edith; four daughters, Roxanne (Larry) Scheie, of Albany, Oregon; Julie Kaiser, of Fargo, ND; Joanne (Doug) Swenson, of Kindred, ND; and Susan (Scott) Quitmeyer, of Big Lake, MN; one son, Ronald (Nancy) Kaiser, of Sioux Falls, SD; one step daughter, Beverly (Franz) Lynch, of Moorhead, MN; one step son; Michael Quast, of Moorhead, MN; seven grandchildrewn; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Kaiser, of Ogema, MN; and Eugene Kaiser, of Ogema, MN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ivan Kaiser; three sisters, Evelyn Moe , Delores Zurn, and an infant sister.
