Ida Marguerite Odegaard 101, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota died Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Ecumen- Emmanuel Community, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Ida was born on March 24, 1914 the daughter of John and Anna (Engberg) Johnson in the Homlesville Township of Becker County, Minnesota. She was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School. Ida was united in marriage on April 26, 1941 to Toye Odegaard in Westbury, Minnesota. They made their home in Detroit Lakes until they moved to Hawley, Minnesota.  Ida was active at home taking care of the daily activities with the children and the household. She was also active at church with circle and Sunday school. After Toye’s  retirement they returned to Detroit Lakes. Ida was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, painting, crossword puzzles, needle work and traveling. Ida is survived by her children, Kathy (Dick) Riedberger of Detroit Lakes, MN; Ordell (Peggy) Odegaard of Park Rapids, MN; Roger (Jean) Odegaard of Alexandria, MN; James (Melanie) Odegaard of Hawley, MN; Betty (Steve) Wignes of Nevis, MN; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Ida was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Toye, grandson, Bradley Odegaard, five brothers and four sisters. Memorials may be made to: Ecumen-Emmanuel Community, Trinity Lutheran Church or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
