Dale K. Peterson age 78 of Rochert, MN died April 29, 2016 at Essentia Health – St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes, MN. Dale Kenneth Peterson was born August 16, 1937 in Heron Lake, MN to Garland and Alva Rassmussen Peterson. The family moved to South St. Paul, MN. Dale graduated from South St. Paul High School in 1957. He was united in marriage to Doreen Mathison in 1958. Over the years Dale’s job moved the family to live in various places including Newport, MN, Grand Forks, ND, Rochester, MN and Des Moines, IA. During this time Dale married Linda Rucker in 1972 and in 1976 married Barbie Blee. Dale retired in 2001 and moved to the Cotton Lake area near Detroit Lakes. Dale loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and car racing. He also was an avid reader and bird watcher. He was known for having a great sense of humor and time spent with his grandchildren was very important to him. He is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Steven) Kruger, of Rochester, MN; and Deanna (Kevin) Rugg, of Apple Valley, MN; three sons, Dan (Jennifer) Peterson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Douglas Peterson, of Rochert, MN; and Bradley Peterson, of Fargo, ND; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one sister, Joni Nelson, of Kingston, OK; and one sister in law, Lisa Peterson, of Dresser, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbie (2001); one sister, Jan Stringer; and one brother, Dave Peterson.
