Michael Dean Wirth

Michael D. Wirth age 63 of Davenport, ND died May 1, 2016 at his lake home in Detroit Lakes, MN Michael Dean Wirth was born December 3, 1952 in Mahnomen,  MN to Benjamin and Lillian Otterness Wirth. He attended school in Mahnomen, MN. The family later moved to Detroit Lakes where Michael graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1970. He then attended the Detroit Lakes Vocational and Technical College. On November 24, 1973 he was united in marriage to Barbara Borah in Detroit Lakes, MN. They made their home in Moorhead, MN and in 1975 moved to Davenport, ND. Michael had a forty year career with Steiger Tractor/Case IH in Fargo, ND. Michael loved bass fishing. He also enjoyed lawn work and gardening, and was an avid bird watcher and antique collector. He is survived by his wife Barbara; two daughters, Michelle (William) Michalko, of Rochester, MN; and Carrie Wirth, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one son, Joshua (Leah) Wirth, of Fargo, ND; three grandchildren, Zoey, Hudson, and Theodore; three brothers, Richard Wirth, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Duane (Susan) Wirth, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Gene Wirth, of Jackson Hole, WY; one sister, Barbara Moser, of Detroit Lakes, MN; several nieces and nephews; and numerous Foster Children that he and Barb raised. He was preceded in death by his parents.
