Norman George Erickson

Norman G. Erickson 81 of Audubon, Minnesota died Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at his home. Norman was born on March 9, 1935 the son of Eddie and Danah (Anderson) Erickson in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.  He attended school at District #50 in Cormorant Township. At the age of seventeen he began his career with Harvey Nelson Construction and later it became Wayne Nelson Construction. Norman was a heavy equipment operator for most of those years.  He was united in marriage to Evy Dyresen on March 24, 1957 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, rural Audubon, Minnesota. They made their home in rural Audubon. Norman continued to work road construction and for the last few years of his career, he worked for Danny Olson Construction until his retirement in the fall of 2014. Norman was a member of Cormorant Lutheran Church his entire life. He loved to visit and tell a good joke. He also enjoyed ice fishing, deer hunting, storytelling, reading and woodworking. Norman cherished his grandchildren and the time spent with them. Norman is survived by his daughter, Sharon (Don) Dentz of North Bend, WA; three sons, Glenn (Susan) Erickson of Audubon, MN; Paul (Sandra) Erickson of Lynnwood, WA; and Eric (Diana) Erickson of Everett, WA; six grandchildren, Amanda (Todd) North; Nicholas (Natasha) Erickson; Zachary (Dawn) Erickson; Adam (Teigan) Dentz; Madison (Daymon) Dentz; and Alexander Erickson; five great grandchildren, Jackson, Maxwell, and Grady North; and Gavin and Easton Erickson; three brothers, Lowell (Lorraine) Erickson of Park Rapids, MN; Ellery (Jeanette) Erickson of Litchfield, MN; Danny Erickson of Lake Park, MN; two sisters, Margaret Wischnak of Morris, MN; Gloria (Bob Dalman) Erickson of Pelican Rapids, MN; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Evy (2015), sister-in-law, Carol Erickson and brother-in-law, Donny Wischnak.
