Harlan L. Olson

Harlan L. Olson age 81 of Osage, MN died August 15, 2016 at his residence under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Harlan Luverne Olson was born December 11, 1934 in McGregor, MN to Henry and Inga (Hogsven) Olson. The family moved to Sacred Heart, MN and later to Echo, MN. Harlan graduated from Echo High School in 1953. He served in the United States Navy from 1953-1957. On June 8, 1957 he was united in marriage to Mary Bode in Wood Lake, MN. They made their home in the Twin Cities where Harlan attended electronics school and worked as a T.V. repairman. They moved to rural Osage, MN in 1975 where he continued his work in the T.V. repair business. Harlan enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and restoring and tinkering with old cars. His pride and joy was his 1951 Harley Davidson Motorcycle. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing and collecting guitars. He was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Snellman, MN for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife Mary; one son, Mark (Cheri) Olson, of Osage, MN; one daughter, Julie (Randy) Buhr, of Frazee, MN; three grandchildren, Sarah (Tyler Oelfke) Buhr, Rachael (Keane Oehrlein) Buhr, and Nick Olson; one great granddaughter, Payslee Oehrlein; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; step father Muryl Wagner; grandson, Eric Buhr; sister and brother in law, Marlys and Russ Refsland.
