Lorraine A. Hanson age 91 of Detroit Lakes, MN died October 3, 2016 at the Frazee Care Center, Frazee, MN. Lorraine Adell Hanson was born June 16, 1925 in Bemidji, MN to Otto and Hattie Jackson Hart. She graduated from Bemidji High School in 1943. She worked at the Hochnes Shop and also for Sherling Photography in Bemidji. She moved to Texas in 1956. On June 17, 1957 she was united in marriage to Roy V. Hanson in Detroit Lakes, MN. They made their home on a farm in Richwood Township, near Detroit Lakes. Lorraine was an active member at First Baptist Church. She was known for her cooking and baking, and was a wonderful hostess. She was a very faithful lady and her family was a very important part of her life. She is survived by two sons, Vernon (Lanette) Hanson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Bert (Saundra) Hanson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; two daughters, Ruth (Paul) Butcher, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Carol Viste, of Audubon, MN; six grandchildren, Julie (Josh) Knowles, Brian Butcher, Rachel (Neil) Warren, Seth Hanson, Bryce Hanson, and Derrick Hanson; two great grandchildren, MacKenzie and Benjamin Knowles; and one sister in law, Ellora Hart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy (2012); two brothers, Jackson Hart and Thomas Hart; one sister, Doris Downey; and her parents. Funeral Services will be on Saturday October 8, 2016; 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Detroit Lakes, MN. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, MN. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Detroit Lakes, MN.
