Hazel Bernice (Hukee) Albrecht age 91 of Moorhead, MN formerly of Frazee, MN went to be with her Lord on November 22, 2016 at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo, ND. Hazel was born on January 27, 1925 to Nels and Alma (Christiansen) Hukee in Toad Lake Township, MN. As a young woman, she worked at the Fairmont Creamery in Moorhead candling eggs during the war and sewing at Lee Overall in Minneapolis, MN. Hazel married Walter Albrecht on October 6, 1945 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Evergreen, MN. Together Walter and Hazel farmed in Toad Lake Township where they raised their three daughters and were foster parents for twenty five years. Hazel moved to Moorhead, MN in 2001 living in Eventide Senior Living. Hazel loved to crochet and sew, making baby blankets and afghans, but most dear to her heart was holding and rocking babies. She is survived by her daughters, Bernice (Steve) Chesnick, of Moorhead, MN; Sharon Look, of Lincoln, CA; and Jane Arendes, of Moorhead, MN; her grandchildren, Tamela (Steve) Morgan, Melanie (Kirk) Wollenweber, Amber (Michael) McMahon, Krista Arendes, and Kirk (Kristi) Arendes; her great grandchildren, Brittany (Allen Cook) Frueh, Bryce Morgan, Nathan and Noah Wollenweber, Jadyn and Audrey McMahon, and a new arrival due in March; and her great great grandchildren, Spencer and Carson. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Walter; son, Jim Peak, son in law, Bob Arendes, brothers, Orvald, Bert, Ernest, Chester and Lester, and her parents.
