Dell D. Holm age 60 of Island Lake died February 21, 2017 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND. Dell Donald Holm was born September 7, 1956 in St. Cloud, MN to Donald and Artis (Helgeson) Holm. He attended school in Sauk Rapids, MN. In 1968 his family moved to Island Lake and purchased Holm’s Hideaway Resort. Dell was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Shell Lake. He graduated from Frazee High School in 1974. On July 17, 1977 he was united in marriage to Pam Reppin in Snellman, MN. He attended the Detroit Lakes VoTech where he studied the construction trade. He worked for MAHUBE as a building inspector and contractor, and owned and operated the Flat Ridge Fur Farm for several years. He lived out his life hunting, fishing, and trapping and enjoyed teaching these things to his children and grandchildren. He is survived by two daughters, Daniell (Joe) Toenyan, of Melrose, MN; and Wendy (Jared Balow) Holm, of Detroit Lakes, MN; eight grandchildren, Tanner, Luke, Emily, and Henry Toenyan; and Braxton, Leah, Brittney, and Elizabeth Balow; former wife, Pam Schultz, of Mohave Valley, AZ; one sister, Vicky (Russ) Vogt, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one brother, Dean (Sandy) Holm, of Duluth, MN; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be on Monday February 27, 2017; 7:00 p.m. at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, MN. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. also at the West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes, MN.
