Marian J. Ohman

Marian J. Ohman age 87 of Detroit Lakes, MN died February 24, 2017 at Ecumen – Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, MN. Marian Jean Ohman was born November 21, 1929 in Fargo, ND to Robert and Dorothy (Vice) Ault. She attended country school near Davenport, ND thru the eighth grade. Her family moved to Detroit Lakes, where she finished her education, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School. On April 1, 1950 she was united in marriage to Leonard Ohman. They made their home in Detroit Lakes, MN. Marian worked at the First National Bank in Detroit Lakes for thirty two years. She later did bookkeeping for a travel agency and the Beauty Book Hair Salon in Detroit Lakes, and most recently worked for the WE Fest for fifteen years. Marian was an active member of the Augustana Lutheran Church. She served as the Church Treasurer for forty years. She was an avid bowler, participating in many tournaments over the years. She also enjoyed traveling, painting, dancing, and entertaining in her home on Fox Lake. She is survived by one daughter, Wendy (David) Haugrud, of Detroit Lakes, MN; two grandchildren, Erin (Brad) Erickson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Denyse (Alan Ostermann) McClelland, of Moorhead, MN; two great grandchildren, Michael and Kynna Erickson; one brother, Jim (Mavis) Ault, of Hopkins, MN; one sister, Carol Lewis, of Hawley, MN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; one son, Terry Ohman; one daughter, Noni McClelland; two brothers, Bob Ault and Jack Ault; one sister, JoAnn Wolden; and her parents. Funeral Services will be on Saturday March 4, 2017; 2:00 p.m. at the Augustana Lutheran Church in rural Detroit Lakes, MN. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Nursing Home Chapel in Detroit Lakes, MN. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes, MN. Arrangements have been entrusted to the West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes, MN.
