Darlene B. “Tootie” Wilson, age 82 of Rochert, MN died March 10, 2017 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND. Darlene Wilson was born December 23, 1934 in Ulen, MN to William and Bethel (Sundre) Selck. She grew up and attended Country School near Ulen. The family later moved to a farm near Audubon, MN. On December 6, 1971 she was united in marriage to Melvin “Sonny” Wilson in Sisseton, SD. They first made their home in Hawley, MN before moving to a farm in Rochert, MN. Tootie worked for the Skarie Turkey Farm near Detroit Lakes, MN. They later moved to the Twin Cities, where they would live the next twenty years. During their time there, Tootie worked as a Nanny for two different families. They retired and moved back to Detroit Lakes in 2004. Tootie enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, baking, and her black Labradors, and Appaloosa Horses. She also liked outdoor activities, including camping, deer hunting, and traveling. Most of all, her family and her faith were the most important things in her life. She is survived by two daughters, Christine (Donald) Abner, of Tenstrike, MN; and Ladene (Wayne) Earley, of Frazee, MN; two sons, Marty Knudsen, of Missoula, MT; and Shaun Wilson, of Webster, SD; two step daughters, Tammy Wilson, of Aberdeen, SD; and Michelle Oelfke, of Frazee, MN; two step sons, Dan Wilson, of Texas; and Randy (Rhonda) Wilson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Annie Fogard, of Apache Junction, AZ; one brother, Clifford Selck, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and two daughters in law, Lori Knudsen and Gloria Knudsen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin “Sonny” Wilson; two sons, George Knudsen and Mark Knudsen; two grandsons, Corey Knudsen and Casey Knudsen; one sister, Betty Wallace; and three brothers, Ronald, William, and Kenneth Selck. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday March 15, 2017; 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Living God in Audubon, MN. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. also at the Church. Interment will be in the Richwood Lakeside Cemetery, Richwood, MN. Arrangements have been entrusted to the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, MN.
