Charlene M. Winter age 67 of Detroit Lakes, MN died April 10, 2017 unexpectedly at her residence. Charlene Marie Winter was born October 7, 1949 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Theodore and Alta (Rogers) Winter. She grew up in Callaway, MN and attended the St. Benedict Mission School in White Earth. She then attended Waubun High School before completing her education in Detroit Lakes, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1967. She moved to Minneapolis and worked for Sears for ten years. On September 15, 1979 she was united in marriage to Eugene Kaiser. They made their home in rural Ogema, MN. They would later divorce. Char sold Avon for many years, and currently was working for Morrison Eye Care in Detroit Lakes, where she has worked for over fifteen years. She enjoyed all her co-workers and made many friends with the clients. Char loved her family and enjoyed visiting with her dad and spent most holidays with him, along with her brothers, sisters in law, nieces and nephews. She treated her nieces and nephews like her own. Char enjoyed going out with her friends. She attended many concerts at the casino, loved the lakes and loved to dance. She was the “dancing queen” and life of the party. Char had a love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Full of happiness, love, caring, sparkle, gratitude, enthusiasm, and always lit up the room wherever she went. Her love for jewelry, glasses and fashion never went unnoticed. Char touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. She is survived by her father, Ted Winter, of Callaway, MN; two brothers, Roger (Sharon) Winter, of Callaway, MN; and Darrell (Linda) Winter, of Detroit Lakes, MN; eight nieces and nephews, Stephanie (Sam) Secrist, Sarah (Gary) Helm, John (Rhonda) Winter, Amy (Matt) Lammers, Brian (Jessica) Winter, Krista (Matt) Larson, Karla (Joe) Cummings, and Elizabeth Winter; and twenty one great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother; paternal grandparents, Adam and Amelia Winter; and maternal grandparents, Otto and Milla Rogers.
