Gary R. Gould age 72 of Detroit Lakes, MN died April 30, 2017 at his residence. Gary Ray Gould was born November 20, 1944 to Ray and Ella Gould in Graceville, MN. He grew up and attended school in Detroit Lakes, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1962. In the summer he worked for the State Highway Department. Following High School he attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He then served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge from the Army he lived in Minneapolis and worked as a Graphic Artist for the Applebaum’s  Grocery Stores. In 1972 he was married to Mary Grant and they made their home in Eagan, MN. In 1984 he married Lois Morrison. They made their home in Eagan, before moving to Detroit Lakes in 1991, where Gary worked for Lakeshirts, TEAM Industries, and the Olander Bus Co. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, flower gardening, cribbage, dogs, and riding motorcycles. He was an active member of the Eagles Club, and was known for having a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Gary is survived by his wife, Lois; two sons, Grant (Gina) Gould, of Eagle Lake, MN; and Cory (Wade Keller) Gould, of Eagan, MN; one daughter, Jenn (Mark) Beck, of Elko, MN; five grandchildren, Dakotah, Bowie, Teya, Mia, and Tayen. Gary was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Services will be on Thursday May 4, 2017; 2:00 p.m. at the Congregational Church in Detroit Lakes, MN. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with the Eagles Ritual at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes, MN.
