Eleanor Augusta Regevig (Schnitzer) passed away on June 18, 2017 at Oak Crossing Nursing home. She was 95 years old. She was born in the Detroit Lakes area on March 24, 1922. Eleanor’s Mother passed away when she was very young. She became very close with her two sisters and one brother on their family farm by Height ‘O Land Lake where she grew up. She was a strong independent woman and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School. She had many jobs, one being a top waitress at Hillside Supper Club. She married Alfred Regevig in 1943. They moved to Garden City Kansas briefly while he was in the Service. They returned to Detroit Lakes where they lived their remaining years. They had two children Gary and Deanna. Eleanor and Al spent the majority of their years on Munson Lake in a home built by Al. Eleanor worked as a scrub nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital and found this to be a very fulfilling career. Eleanor and Al enjoyed fishing on the lakes and trips to the deer cabin to go hunting. They always welcomed the company of neighbors and friends who were always stopping by for a visit. Eleanor always made sure you didn’t go home hungry. She was an excellent cook and was well known in her later years for her famous Apple Pies. Eleanor loved when her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren would visit and she would spoil them rotten. Eleanor is survived by her son, Gary Regevig (Maple Grove MN), Deanna Solsten (John)- Lakeshore MN.
