Edwin A. Lundberg

March 22, 1919 — July 18, 2017

Edwin Lundberg was born March 22, 1919, to Oscar Emmanuel and Amanda Victoria Johnson Lundberg in Detroit Township, Becker County, Minnesota.  He graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1938 and worked at the Detroit Lakes Hatchery with his brother, Carl.   He began work as a Heating and Air Conditioning Technician in 1940 and joined into partnership with King and Grabow in 1958.  Edwin served in the Army during WWII from 1942 to 1945 in the Fiji Islands, Guadalcanal, British Samoa, Wallis Island, America Samoa, and finished his service at Army Camp Edwards, Massachusetts. Edwin and Doris Lundberg married in 1948 and raised their family on Highway 34 and Juggler Lake.  Edwin worked long hours but found the time to volunteer and go camping with his family.  His fondest memories were of the wonderful retirement summers at the lake and their RVing winter adventures. Edwin was a kind and patient father; a strong and true friend.  He was also a modest man so we (his family) will say only that he was also wise.   Two phrases, good for many occasions, are remembered by his grandchildren: “never force anything,” and “always be a little bit hungry.”  He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Doris Struthers Lundberg.   He will be deeply missed by his children, Jeanne (Pendelis), Margaret (Gregg), Robert, and Paul (Krysia), grandchildren, George, Lindsay, Alaina, Sara and Christos and great grandchildren, Brynn and Eleanore. The family is grateful to the staff at Ecumen in Detroit Lakes for their kind attention and care.
