Ann L. Glander age 78 of Detroit Lakes, MN died March 13, 2019 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND Ann Louise Glander was born May 13, 1940 in rural Ulen, MN to Maxwell and Ina (Odegaard) Coughlin. The family moved to the Detroit Lakes area when Ann was a little girl. She grew up and attended school in Detroit Lakes, graduating with honors from Detroit Lakes High School in 1958. She attended Business College in Detroit Lakes and later lived in Minneapolis, where she worked for the MN Department of Health. She moved back to Detroit Lakes and worked as a secretary at Washington School. On June 18, 1965 she was united in marriage to Duane Glander in Detroit Lakes. They made their home in Detroit Lakes. Ann then started a thirty- year career at Northwestern Bell Telephone, retiring in 1995 from then U.S. West. Ann loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was very important to her and that was a reflection on how she lived her life. She was always very active in her church. She was a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes and served on the first Church Council. She also taught Sunday School and sang in the Church Choir. Ann loved her family and the time spent with them. She enjoyed deer hunting and time spent at the family cabin and farm. She will be remembered fondly for her smile and her laugh. She was a member of several organizations, including the Gideon Auxiliary, the Telephone Pioneers of America, the American Legion Auxiliary, the MN Deer Hunters Association, Thursday Prayer Group, and the Tuesday Lunch Bunch with her classmates. She is survived by her husband, Duane; three sons, Todd (Tasha) Glander, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Tony (Lisa) Glander, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Chad (Kelly) Glander, of Detroit Lakes, MN; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Madalynn, Gabriel, Garrett, Maia, Katie, and Carly; three great grandchildren, Emmett, Payton, and Dominic; one sister, Carolyn (Bob) Eilertson, of Audubon, MN; two brothers, Maurice (Betty) Coughlin, of Moose Lake, MN; and Rodney (Jane) Coughlin, of Glendale, AZ; two sisters in law, Elaine Oelfke, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Shirley Glander, of Frazee, MN; one brother in law, Norman Quittschreiber, of Frazee, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother in law, William and Bertha Glander; one sister, Ruth Engen; one sister in law, Mildred Quittschreiber; and three brothers in law, Larry Engen, William Oelfke, and Norman Glander.
