Barbara Ramberg

Barbara Jean (Olson) Ramberg, 74, of Detroit Lakes, MN passes away January 31, 2019 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND of chronic respiratory failure. Memorial service will be held at West-Kjos funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, MN on June 29, 2019 at 11:00 am.  Graveside service will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery after fellowship. Barbara was born November 28, 1943 to Gene and Marjorie Olson at St Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes, MN.  She was the oldest of 6 children.  Barbara grew up and attended school in Kent and Detroit Lakes, MN.  Barbara married LaVerne Ramberg July 5, 1960.  They made their home on a family farm south of Tioga, ND and brought three children to their union; Lorne, Barry, and Anita. Barb spent her time on the farm being a mom and doing a lot of cooking.  She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aide and White Earth Saddle Club.  Barb was very artistically talented and ran a ceramic shop from her home.  She enjoyed crocheting and many crafts along with word puzzles and crime mysteries.  Barb worked several jobs over the years, mostly in food services, including the American Legion Club, Tioga Hospital, and Skeeter’s Drive Inn.  Barb made sure the goodies were always made and the coffee was always on. Barb is survived by her children Lorne Ramberg, Barry (Melissa) Ramberg of Tioga, ND, Anita (Scott) Pease of Burlington, ND; grandchildren Amanda (Shawn) Martin, Stephanie (Kyle) Ramberg, Grace Ramberg, Trey Ramberg all of Tioga, Kayla (Jace) Lalim of White Earth, ND, Brianne (Richard) Welsch of Watauga, SD, Scotti Pease, Grayson Pease and Sadie Pease of Burlington, ND; great grandchildren Weston, Marli and Bobbi Lalim of White Earth, ND, Kacie, Morgan and Holden Welsch of Watauga, SD, Braylon and Remi McIntyre of Tioga, ND; siblings Elizabeth Tank of Bernard, MN, Denise Belka of Buckeye, AZ, Mike (Fern) Olson of Detroit Lakes, MN and Pat (Steve) Eide of Tioga, ND. Barb is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, infant brother Jeffery Gene Olson.
