Bonita A. Post age 74 of Detroit Lakes, MN died December 17, 2017 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND. Bonita Arlone Post was born July 17, 1943 in Grand Forks, ND to Lloyd and Cassie (Gillis) Hastings. She grew up and attended school in Larimore, ND. On June 24, 1961 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Post at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Frazee, MN. She went back to school and graduated from Frazee High School in 1981. Over the years she worked for Swift’s, Woolworth’s, Mac’s, and the Becker County Nutrition Center in Detroit Lakes. She also worked at John and Aggies Four Corners, which she later owned and operated for several years. She later became a foster parent. She was an excellent cook and cake decorator. She did a lot of catering and cleaning. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, and fishing. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; two sons, Ron (Jackie) Post, of Frazee, MN; and Russ (Cherry) Post, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one daughter, Renee (Jason) Niemi, of Snellman, MN; eight grandchildren, Gage, Layla, Levi, Hudson, Jayden, Layne, Brynlee, and Ginger; one brother, Butch (Marlene) Hastings, of Crookston, MN; two sisters, Myrna Nickolauson, of Fargo, ND; and Joyce (Cam) Mikkelson, of Devils Lake, ND; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers in law, Elmer Nickolauson and J.D. Nelson; and one nephew, Allan Nelson.
