Bonnie Veldine Sorlien

Bonnie V.  Sorlien age 73 of Detroit Lakes, MN died January 3, 2023, at Diamond Willow Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, MN. Bonnie was born January 21, 1949, in Detroit Lakes, MN to Juliet (Larson) and Vernon Gunderson. She grew up in Detroit Lakes and graduated Detroit Lakes High School in 1967 after which she attended the Vo-Tech for Fashion Merchandising.

On June 24, 1995, she was united in marriage to Terry Sorlien. They made their home in Frazee, MN. She worked different jobs; fashion retail, bookkeeping and credit collections.  She enjoyed bowling, music, playing cards and visiting with family. 

She is survived by her son, Gene (Becca Johnson) Gunderson of Callaway, MN, her daughter Julie (Dale) Klein of Fargo, ND, one stepdaughter, Trudy (Pete) Hendrickson, of Moorhead, MN; one stepson, Jason (Jess) Sorlien, of Montana; six grandchildren, Alexandra (Alex Nielsen) Gunderson, Anjelika (Cody Etter) Gunderson, Jonn Gunderson, Nevada (Cameron) Aberle, Kaley Hendrickson, Aiden Sorlien, her niece Michelle (Joel) Fischer and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Terry, brother Ronnie Gunderson, sister Mary Simon.

Memorial Services will be on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Christian Fellowship Church, 28048 Meadow Drive, Detroit Lakes, MN.  Cremation and other services provided by West Kjos Funeral Home of Detroit Lakes, MN.
