Brian Otto Sperling

Brian O. Sperling age 44 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at his residence from complications of a long-time illness.

Brian Otto Sperling was born December 31, 1975 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Glenn and Bonnie (Stallman) Sperling. He grew up and attended school in Frazee, MN, graduating from Frazee High School in 1994. While in high school he worked for Barrel of Fun in Perham, MN. In 1995 he started working for Herzog Roofing in Detroit Lakes, where he was currently employed.

One of Brian’s passions were 1973-1979 Ford pickups. His prize possession is a 1975 Ford F-150 that he restored. Brian was also a master woodworker who could build almost anything. He also loved working with his bobcat and backhoe. He was known as a very easy going, kind, patient man. He also had a good sense of humor and was always willing to help someone in need. He was always very proud of Tammy’s children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his parents; two brothers, Christopher (Joleen) Sperling, of Greeley, CO; and Nicholas Sperling, of Detroit Lakes, MN; three sisters, Skyler Sperling, of Mpls, MN; Sydney Sperling, of Mpls, MN; and Rhett Sperling, of Denver, CO; significant other, Tammy Rausch and her children Jackie, Aurora, Pauline, and Jeric Trusty, and her seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be on Monday January 13, 2020; 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes, MN. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, MN. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes, MN.
