Bryce Kenneth Berg unexpectedly passed away peacefully on February 22nd surrounded by loved ones in Daytona, Florida.
Bryce was born on November 17, 1966, to Gail and Kenneth Berg of Detroit Lakes, MN. He was the only boy in a family of four. Growing up he was into baseball, football and wrestling but he settled on Taekwondo as his sport of choice. He completed in the Junior Olympics earning a silver medal. He loved the outdoors – fishing and deer hunting were two of his favorites. You would often find him with a pole in each hand because two was always better than one and you never knew which set up would work better. He also loved old muscle cars and anything that went fast.
Bryce was an amazing tradesman – most of his career was spent as a union carpenter sheet rocking but he also spent time learning the concrete business. We often called him the jack of all trades because he literally could fix or build anything. He was a perfectionist – always measured, analyzed – repeat process four times – and then build. He had a big heart and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone that needed extra help.
He met his future wife – Michelle Rolfing – during their Senior year of high school. They were married October 9, 1993, and eventually settled on living in the Twin Cities area. They built a house in North Branch which became home for the past 24 years. In 2002, they surprised everyone and became a family of three – welcoming their daughter Jordyn whom Bryce adored. He loved teaching her about cars, how to do archery and just watching her grow up.
He will be missed by all who knew him but mostly by “his girls” Michelle and Jordyn.
