Charles Dean Korinta, the son of Charles and Slema (Johnson) Korinta was born January 6, 1930, in Detroit Lakes. He grew up and attended school in Detroit Lakes and graduated from the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston in 1948. He attended Carleton College in Northfield, and then the University of Minnesota where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources in St. Paul in 1952. He was a member of the Alpha Zeta Fraternity.
He worked for Libby’s Foods in Rochester before joining his father as a partner at Korinta Chick Hatchery and Poultry Farm near Detroit Lakes for seventeen years. After doing graduate work at the State College of Iowa in Cedar Falls he worked at MNDot Inventory Control in Detroit Lakes. After retirement he volunteered with Lutheran Social Services as a Senior Companion for many years. He was also a regular volunteer at the local Senior Nutrition Center, serving numerous terms as their secretary. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes, where he became a commissioned lay minister of Stephen Ministry.
Mr. Korinta did not marry and had no brothers or sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents.
