Charlotte M. Torgusson

Charlotte Marie Torgusson was born April 15, 1928 in Otter Tail County, Minnesota the daughter of Michael and Mamie (Greenwood) Shasky. She passed away Monday January 15, 2018 at Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, surrounded by those she loved. She grew up and attended school in the Richville area. On June 26, 1947, Charlotte was united in marriage to Eugene Torgusson in Richville. They moved to Detroit Lakes where they raised their family. Charlotte was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was active with WELCA, quilters and sewing club, library club and volunteered at Emmanuel Nursing home among numerous other places.  Charlotte was known for her artistic abilities, including painting, ceramics, needlework, and sewing. Her greatest enjoyment in life was baking for and spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great–grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Brian (Sandy) Torgusson of Detroit Lakes; Pat (Hank) Carpenter of Detroit Lakes; grandchildren: Casey (Jason) Torgusson, Nicholas (Sara) Torgusson, Melissa (David) Greene, Kellie (Dan) Francis; great grandchildren: Jourdan, Morganne, Soreya, Sadie, Ella, Sophie-Charlotte, Hannah, Hayden, and Brayden. Brothers: Robert (Marlene) Shasky of Detroit Lakes; James (Sylvia) Shasky of Moorhead; and several nieces and nephews. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Torgusson in 2008; parents: Michael and Mamie Shasky; brother, Floyd (Letty) Shasky.
