Remembering the Life of….

Cheryl St. Claire, age 68, of rural Callaway, MN, died Wednesday June 15, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Cheryl Rae Demmer was born on May 11, 1954, in Fergus Falls, MN, the daughter of Orville and Winnifred (Watnaas) Demmer. She was one of eight children, grew up in Fergus Falls and graduated high school with the class of 1972. Following graduation, she fulfilled her calling of helping others and graduated with her Registered Nursing Degree from St. Lukes School of Nursing in 1981. Cheryl was united in marriage to Rodney St. Claire on June 15, 1985, at her parent’s farmstead in Fergus Falls. They later made their home in rural Callaway, where they raised their three daughters.

Cheryl worked in various healthcare settings during her nursing career and touched many lives along the way. She was very devoted to her profession, working up until her health required her to retire in May of 2022, after 41 years of service. She wore her nursing badge with pride and was even more proud that her daughters followed in her footsteps and was sure to tell everyone.  

Cheryl enjoyed traveling, gardening, boating, spending time outdoors, and anything that involved spending time with family. Cheryl cherished every family celebration and was sure not to miss one, including her 37^th wedding anniversary. Cheryl’s grandchildren were her pride and joy and held a very special place in her heart. Cheryl had a love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a dedicated Christian and rarely missed a church event. Every summer you could find Cheryl at Lake Geneva Christian Center- a bible camp she has gone to annually since she was a child. She was a social butterfly and made friends with anyone she met. Cheryl was a beautiful person inside and out and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed enough to know her.

Cheryl is survived by her loving husband Rodney St. Claire, Daughters: Jessica (Levi) Englund, Jenna (Loque) St. Claire, & Jelissa (Anthony) St. Claire; Grandchildren: Mason St. Claire, Brielle, Annika & Brantley Englund. Sister-in-law: Ginger Demmer; Brothers: Leslie (Vicki) Demmer, Loyal (Maureen) Demmer, and Loren (Amy) Demmer; Sisters: Colleen (David) Cole and Carma (Randy) Synstelien; Mother-in-law: Phyllis St. Claire; Sister-in laws: Lynn (Tim) Lund, Luanne (Frank) Lottino; and Laura (Vernon) St. Claire; Brother-in-law: Robert (Cindy) St. Claire; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Cheryl is joined in heaven by her parents, Orville and Winnifred, and siblings Claudia & Larry Demmer.
