Clarice Braasch

Clarice R. Braasch age 90 of Detroit Lakes, MN died November 12, 2019 at Essentia Health – Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes, MN. Clarice Ruth Braasch was born October 20, 1929 in Wimbledon, ND to Henry and Winnie (Balk) Kamphuis. She grew up and attended school in Wimbledon, graduating from Wimbledon High School. On June 6, 1947 she was united in marriage to Lester Braasch. They made their home in Fargo, ND until moving to Fergus Falls, MN in 1956. They moved to Detroit Lakes in 1965. Clarice was a very patient, gentle, and kind person. She worked alongside her husband, cutting meat for many years. She enjoyed gardening and canning. She was known by many to be an excellent baker. Sugar cookies and donuts were a few of her specialties. She is survived by two sons, Lester Jr. (Terrie) Braasch, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Neil (Janet) Braasch, of Dilworth, MN; two daughters, Nata Borth, of Batesville, MS; and Deb Braasch, of Bemidji, MN; seven grandchildren, Sarah Braasch, Rachel Braasch, Brandon Braasch, Jacqui (Pat) Floding, David (LaDonna) Coon, Stephanie Borth, and Jennifer (David) Jackson; seven great grandchildren, Alexis, Alyssa, Austin, Jazlynn, Sameerah, Gary, and Bryce. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; three grandchildren, Jacob Braasch, Aaron Braasch, and Michael Borth; son in law, Gary Borth; one brother; two sisters; and her parents. Memorial Services will be on Wednesday November 20, 2019; 2:00 p.m. at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
