Connie Lee Oak

Connie L. Oak age 57 of Lake Park, MN died peacefully, surrounded by family on December 8, 2025, at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Connie Lee Oak was born on January 31, 1968, in Minneapolis, MN to Gerald and Linda (Huss) Smith. Over the years her family lived in Redwood Falls, Montevideo, and Fergus Falls, before settling in West Fargo, ND. Connie graduated from West Fargo High School in 1986. She then attended the Alexandria Vocational College where she earned an associate's degree in accounting. In October of 1990 Connie was united in marriage to Brian Oak in Alexandria, MN. They made their home in Colorado for a short time before moving to Cormorant Lake in rural Lake Park, MN. Connie worked for SJE Rhombus in Detroit Lakes for 10 years. She later moved into Lake Park, and in 2016 started working for Team Lab in Detroit Lakes, where she was currently employed. She absolutely loved working for Team Lab and considered everyone there as family.

Connie was a real “Lake Girl” and loved being on the lake with family and friends. She could often be found on the lake with her best friends Cathy and Jon Nelson. She was known as having a green thumb, evidenced by her many beautiful flowers and plants. Connie enjoyed being around people, always lighting up a room with her kind, friendly presence. Among many other things, she will be remembered for her hugs. Her family was a very important part of her life, her grandkids being her pride and joy.

She is survived by her sons, Dillon Oak, of Lake Park, MN; and Steve (Adria) Oak, of Detroit Lakes, MN; 7 grandchildren, Brekka, Bailey, Bryant, Harper, Kori, Anders, and Adele; Brian Oak, of Fargo, ND; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and 1 brother, Steve Smith.
