Daniel Earl Moser

Daniel “Dan” Earl Moser, age 67, of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023, at the Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.  A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, with a time of gathering from 1:00 pm until the time of service. 

Dan was born on June 20, 1955, to Albert and Ethel (Johnson) Moser in Detroit Lakes, MN.  He grew up on the family farm in Rochert and graduated from the Frazee High School Class of 1973.  After graduation, he enlisted into the United States Army and served honorably until his discharge in 1976.  Upon his return, he attended North Dakota State School of Science where, in 1981, he graduated with an Associate’s Degree of Science in Electronic Instruments Technology.  Dan would go on to work for the Williams Pipeline in Sioux Falls, SD; Grand Forks, ND; and Sioux City, IA.  He retired in 1997 due to health reasons and entered into assisted living.  While in retirement, he worked for Petco in Sioux City, IA.  In 2005, Dan returned to the Detroit Lakes area, where he resided until his passing. 

Dan Loved spending time on the water, fishing, tubing, and especially water skiing.  He also was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting deer, pheasant, and duck.  Dan was a Minnesota Vikings fan.  He loved seeing his grandchildren. 

Dan will be remembered by his two daughters, Daneill (Michael) Beck of Columbus, NE; and Shelby (Michael) Jurrens of Le Mars, IA; a sister, Lois Flatau of Rochert, MN; two sisters-in-law, Mary Moser, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Barb Moser of Rochert, MN; his grandchildren: Emma Beck, Eli Beck, and Brynlee Jurrens; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ethel; two brothers, Lowell and Duane; and a sister, Joan (LeRoy) Delp.
