Deborah Kay Harrington

Deborah Kay Harrington 68, of Detroit Lakes MN passed away peacefully on November 14th at Essentia-St. Mary’s hospital with family by her side.  

Deb was born on June 12^th, 1953 to Vernon and Babe (Juliette) (Brahmer) Mastin in Detroit Lakes.  She graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1971.  Deb continued her education off and on throughout her lifetime.  

After graduation Deb moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth Texas area where she held various jobs and met many good friends. Also often hosting family from MN for visits.  1984 Deb moved back to St. Paul MN.  Deb later moved to Detroit Lakes to be closer to family.  

While in St. Paul area she worked as an accountant with many advertising firms.  One of her favorite jobs was at Eastern Onion, delivering singing telegrams, which she graced the family with on many special occasions.  

Deb loved to travel and enjoy life to its fullest.  Taking numerous trips to Jamaica and Mexico making lifelong friends on these journeys.  

Deb's favorite holiday was Christmas, she loved to decorate, make Chex mix and make sure everyone got a gift.  

Family was extremely important to her.  Spending holidays visiting and always up for a game of backgammon, which would be played until she won. 

Her nieces, great nephews and great-great niece held special places in her heart and will be missed by them dearly. 

Deb is survived by her Sister, Georgia (Arnie) Olson, her Brother Craig (Becky) Mastin.  Nieces, Michelle Johnson, Jeanie (Kevin) Berns, Sabriel (Bethany) Mastin, Great Nephews, Chad (Ashley) Johnson, Chris (Jessica) Johnson, Lukas Andringa, Cody Johnson, and Great-great Niece Shelby Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents Veron and Babe Mastin.
