Dolores Leila Struthers (Meisch) born November 9, 1946, to Adolph and Dolores (Trafton) Meisch in Anacortes, WA, passed away on August 25, 2025, at the Cottages in Detroit Lakes, MN.
Dolores was born in Anacortes, WA and the family later moved to Aurora, IL where she lived until 1952. While in Aurora she started school at St. Joes Catholic School. They then moved to Glenview, IL where she attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School. She went to our Lady of Perpetual Help until 1960. Dolores graduated from Glenbrook North high school in 1964. While growing up, Dolores enjoyed playing games with her siblings, swimming and ice skating on the rink her dad built for them behind their home. In 1965 the family moved back to Washington, but Dolores stayed in Aurora with her grandpa and grandma Meisch. Her grandma Meisch cherished her.
Dolores married Richard Albrecht, and they had 3 children: Charles, Katrina and Eric. While they were married the Navy took the family to many different states before finally settling in Kirkland, WA. Dolores eventually divorced Richard. She then met and married Duane Struthers. Together they had 1 child, Michael. In 1989 they moved to Minnesota to be closer to Duane’s parents. They eventually purchased their home in Callaway, MN where they raised the 2 youngest boys.
Dolores enjoyed making clothing and blankets, ceramics, jewelry and was a beautiful seamstress. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She would take them fishing at Mitchell Dam on the south end of Tamarac Refuge. She loved to ride her horse, going for drives through the refuge and family gatherings with her children and grandchildren.
Dolores is survived by her children, Charles Albrecht, Katrina (Dennis) Hoefs, Eric Albrecht, and Michael Struthers; 2 step daughters, Angela Struthers and Shawna (Joe) Jones; mother Dolores Meisch; and seven siblings, Rosanne (Harry) Heideman, Adolph (Skip) Meisch, Cheryl (Doug) Parrot, Susan (Susie) Meisch, Roberta (Craig) Phillips, Timothy (Cheryl) Meisch and Jill-Ann (Geoff) Paintr; grandchildren, Mistical Roving, Crystal Jones, Sean Jones, George-Zachary (Beth) Wolfe, Joshua (Sabrina) Wolfe, Kassandra Albrecht, Maddy, Tori, Zora, Draven, Carter, Ethan, Christopher and Andrew; great grandchildren, Grayson, Authera, Lucas, Lorenzo (Enzo), Mila, Emily, Kendrick, Jasmine, Hannah, Shayla, and Aubrey; great-great grandchildren, Laney and Daniel.
Dolores was preceded in death by her father Adolph, husband Duane, brother Nicholas, and grandson Duane (DJ).
